Draft for legal review. These terms are a structure for review, not final terms. Highlighted text marks details that must be confirmed before launch.
Website use
By using the OZRK website you agree to use it lawfully and not to interfere with its operation. [Confirm eligibility, age requirements and governing law]
Maps
Maps are representations and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Boundaries, trails and roads on the ground may differ from what OZRK shows. Sample data on this website is fictional.
Weather
Weather information comes from third parties and forecasts can be wrong. OZRK doesn’t guarantee that weather information is current or accurate. Check official forecasts and alerts from the National Weather Service before you go.
Trail conditions
Trail conditions change with weather, seasons and maintenance. Closures may not appear in OZRK right away. Confirm current conditions with the managing agency.
Outdoor hazards
Outdoor activities carry real risk, including injury and death. You are responsible for your own safety, preparation and decisions.
User-generated content
Reports and other content from users are not verified by default and are labeled as user reported. You are responsible for content you submit and must not post anything unlawful or misleading. [Define license to user content and moderation process]
Government information
Where OZRK shows information from government agencies, the agency’s official publication is authoritative. OZRK links to official sources where possible and is not affiliated with any agency unless stated.
Navigation limitations
OZRK is not a substitute for a map, compass, navigation skills or local knowledge. GPS and phone batteries fail, and many outdoor areas have no cell service.
Emergency services
OZRK is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Outdoor activities
Hunting, fishing, off-road and other activities are governed by federal, state and local regulations. You are responsible for knowing and following them, including licenses, seasons and permits. Regulation summaries in OZRK do not replace the official regulations.
Disclaimers
[Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability, to be drafted by counsel]
Account termination
OZRK may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time once accounts launch. [Confirm process and data handling on termination]
